To cycle across one of the largest alpine pastures in the land of the Cimbrian people in Trentino, among fir trees and alpine lakes. To breathe the history and the traditions of a stunning mountain and admire the varied biodiversity of the Alps. This is Alpe Cimbra Bike – Folgaria Lavarone Lusérn and Vigolana –, offering more than 600 km of MTB trails leading to Lake Garda, Levico and Caldonazzo, as well as hundreds of trails suitable for all disciplines: all-mountain, enduro, cross-country. Cherry on top, the Bike Park in Lavarone for downhill and gravity, and the new Folgaria Bike Park – opening in June 2023 – with a 10 km exciting flow trail developing in the middle of the woods, with parabolic curves, jumps, and ups and downs.

Moreover, the cycle paths are panoramic itineraries and are ideal for beginners and families, from the Luserna-Asiago cycle-pedestrian route, also known as the “cycle-pedestrian of the huts” due to the many mountain cottages along the way, to the cycle-pedestrian paths in the valley, which lead to Lake Garda, Trento city, or Bassano del Grappa through Caldonazzo. As for road bikers, Alpe Cimbra offers two great ascents belonging to the “Legendary Ascents of Trentino”, namely the Calliano-Passo Coe (stage of Giro d’Italia in 2002) and the Caldonazzo-Menador (Giro d’Italia 2022), as well as hundreds of kilometers encompassing both Trentino and Veneto.

Little bikers will surely be fond of the trail center featuring a pump track, parabolic curves, and MTB schools. The Zeta Pump in Lavarone is the first one of its kind, being it designed in a symmetrical and mirrored way. The trail develops for about 200 meters and was built on an area of around 1000 square meters: an exciting succession of paved bumps and parabolic curves for both two- and four-wheeled vehicles! Bikes, scooters, skateboards, skates…anything goes, as long as you have fun! The structure is suitable for all ages, skill levels, and ambitions. In addition to it, the little ones will surely enjoy the Bike Park in Folgaria, which is specifically intended for children of 3-6 years and allows them to approach the discipline thanks to the strider and tailor-made trails. Alpe Cimbra Bike aims to become as inclusive as possible by providing bikers with hand-bike and tandem classes, barrier-free trails, and rentals of special aids.

Sunny days never fail on the Alpe Cimbra in Trentino, and the MTB-season goes from May until early November. The high-level bike offer on the territory includes kilometers and kilometers of mapped MTB-trails and itineraries, as well as bike hotels and residences featuring special services, well-stocked bike rentals, MTB instructors, e-bike charging stations, shuttle services, and a unique atmosphere.

Discover the perfect combination of history, food and wine, and culture on the Alpe Cimbra for an all-round experience: the forts of the First World War – after which the popular “100 km dei Forti” is named –, Luserna – namely one of the most beautiful villages of Italy and the last Cimbrian linguistic island –, the many dairy farms, honey- and small fruits producers...not to mention the breathtaking views on Lake Caldonazzo and Levico, the trails crossing old villages with mills and sawmills, and the 60 km of the Vigolana bike tour.

Many are the activities planned by ApT Alpe Cimbra during the summer season: guided MTB excursions, MTB classes in the Bike Parks, bike tours of two or more days and overnight stay in hanging tent, sunrise-, sunset-, or night bike tours on the highest peaks, guided tours to Lake Garda, food bike tours, and much more.

To conclude, Alpe Cimbra hosts some of the most well-known events dedicated to bike lovers, namely the “100 km dei Forti” – a challenging MTB-marathon among the Alps taking place on June 10-11 –, the “Tour Transalp” – whose finish line and starting point is scheduled on June 21-22 in Folgaria – and the “MTB-O World Masters Series and MTB-O World Cup 3° Round” – an orienteering MTB race on September 20-23, 2023.
