12.02.2016 - The Folgaretans, tired of being subjected to harassments and acts of violence, do not lose heart, and armed only with an uncommon resourcefulness managed to impose themselves and prevail to this arrogance. The right to be independent, acquired over time with great sacrifices, was again saved.
Since then several centuries have passed, and Castel Beseno is today a precious and unique historical witness. Located right at the entrance of the valley, it is the largest castle in Trentino. Open for visitors from April to October: inside are different exhibit halls with weapons, armor and walkways along the walls. Rich in history for facts, events and personalities related to it, it is an important cultural site in the region. Not to miss the exciting live historical reenactments planned in the events calendar. In particular, the great to arms to arms battle, where several garrisons of warriors in period costumes, arrive from various parts of Europe, to battle in tournaments to the sound of sword, muskets and cannons!
