4) THE GIACOMELLI BIVOUAC IN VIGOLANA.
The “Alla Madonnina” bivouac is located at 2030 meters above sealevel, in the Vigolana massif, a limestone group that separates theAdige Valley from Valsugana and Folgaria in southern Trentino. The bivouac was built to cope with the strong variability of mountain weatherconditions, as is often the case. Being the first major mountain in terms of elevationand extension close to the Po Valley plain, it quickly attracts clouds and rainfall.Designed by the Trentino architect Riccardo Giacomelli, the bivouacreinterprets the strong lines of the landscape by reducing thevolume and increasing the livability of the historic outpost at thefoot of the anthropomorphic spires of the Frate and the Madonnina. The itinerary leading to the bivouac is highly charming, suitable for experiencedhikers, and allows you to appreciate the Vigolana in its most spectacularaspects, between limestone spires and breathtaking views of the VigolanaPlateau and the Upper Valsugana.
