After the devastation caused by Storm Vaia in 2018, artist Marco Martalar transformed the wood of the fallen trees into an extraordinary work of art: the Vaia Dragon, a symbol of hope and rebirth. However, this iconic sculpture was destroyed by an arson fire, leaving a deep wound in the community.
The crowdfunding campaign on GoFundMe is still active, which has allowed the reconstruction of the Vaia Dragon and the return of its message of resilience to the valley. Every contribution, no matter how small, has helped fund the project, with the goal of raising 55,000 euros.
