TONZ - TÅNTZ - DANCE: A DANCING PLACE NAME
Every community has always had a place and time dedicated to the ritual. For example, the conclusion of haymaking, the end of winter, the arrival of the new year were celebrated. Daily experience translated into propitiatory rituals for the rains, to ingratiate the spirits of the forest or to venerate the mountain goddess. In these places the ancient inhabitants of the mountains practiced rites and danced, the legacy of these ancient rites has come down to us engraved in the Cimbrian toponym "Tåntz" which translated means "Dance".
